Bio: After singing in the children’s choir and elementary school Glee Club; Kyle started playing music in his first cover band Xavier at the age of 15 and performed for the first time at his former junior high school’s Farewell Freshmen Dance. As a high school senior, he began to develop his writing and frontman skills in a cover/original band called Forgotten Prayer as the house band for the local teen club Secrets. After a few years Forgotten Prayer disbanded and in ’91-’92 at the age of 19, Kyle began playing the local bars in a new project called 13 Storiez. The band went through several line-up changes, lost the “Z”, and as 13 Stories; Kyle co-wrote, recorded, and released his first full-length album, “Here We Are” in 1995. Over the next several years 13 Stories began expanding their reach and performing around the Central Florida area, but similarities with many band names and more line-up changes soon prompted the need for more change. With his guitarist and partner-in-crime Waylon Baker and a fresh line-up; the decision was made to become Sons Of None, and in 1999 Kyle released his second full-length album as the self-titled, “Sons Of None”. Kyle and the band continued to expand their reach into South and Northern Florida for the next several years by fine-tuning and defining their sound and show to change with the times. In 2002 with a new singing style, rage, and sound; Kyle and the band once again entered the studio and released an edgier nu-metal sounding 5-song EP. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and after internal issues took their toll; Sons Of None disbanded altogether around ’04-’05.
Following a few years of personal struggles and battling his own demons, Kyle moved to Mobile, AL in 2007 hoping to find a fresh start. After a night of Karaoke in Mobile a local at the bar told him about some friends that needed a singer for their band. After looking them up on MySpace (where was that 20 years earlier); Kyle met the fellas, auditioned, and became the lead singer for the Mobile-based rock band StrongFold in early 2008. Playing a mix of covers and originals, the band became a prominent fixture in the downtown Mobile music scene over the next several years. In 2010 they entered the studio and Kyle once again co-wrote, recorded, and released a new 3-song EP titled, “Demolition”.
StrongFold gained momentum in support of the EP over the next few years, and Kyle played some of the biggest gigs to the largest crowds of his career. This included Mobile’s annual BayFest Music Festival, Mobile’s inaugural 1065 Music Festival, and several shows as support for national, regional, and local acts at venues across the Gulf Coast. With the effects of the ever-growing StrongFold Family lives and the Covid-19 Pandemic slowing the opportunities to perform; Kyle was approached by the Hollywood Vagabonds in early 2021. With a strong desire to get back to not only what he loves doing, but also his rocker roots of the 80’s Hair-band era; it wasn’t a hard decision to make at all. So now…… “Here We Are”!
Interesting Fact(s): At the age of 9, he was hit by a car. His Mom lost count of the stitches in his face somewhere in the 200’s. It’s all good now though. "I think… LOL!" He gave up any chance at pursuing a college football career by telling his high school football coach, “I think I just want to play music in my band after I graduate.” He doubts this is interesting at all and just obvious if you know him, but he is a middle child.
